I didn’t read yesterday.
A million excuses could be given but the reality is that I didn’t make it a priority…until 2am when I couldn’t sleep {funny how that happens!!}.
And as I began 1 Samuel 7, I was hit hard by Samuel’s words to Israel:
“Come back!!…but come back ALL the way. Destroy the past and look Grace straight in the eye and He *will* defend and protect you!”
…and Israel listened.
…and God defeated the enemy:
“As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. But the Lord thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion and they were routed before Israel.”
{1 Samuel 7.10}
Lessons I wish I had read in the daylight flooded my heart in the cover of nighttime…
